Shitla Saatam

                             Shitla Saatam is concept of Indian culture and tradition normally this festival celebrates in Shravan Mahina as an India religion calendar. it's a part of folk deity. Gujarati's villages also celebrate as a part of religious festival. Shitala Saatam is the day which we witness the conflict between religion and science.

                            Shitala like small pox. many years ago this small pox shown to people's faces and thinks that shitala goddess became angry so people do puja archana and build temples for shitala mata to make happy. but now a days shitala is under control.

                               The Tradition of not making goddess shitala an happy by making hot food in the homes continue. we celebrate saatam because behind this scientific reason. we eat cold food some jumes come in the cold food in saatam this food make vitamin. a part society still worshiping goddess and celebrate that day with cold food. normally one day ago people made some kind of food in Gujarat like thepla, raitu, puri, chanamath,...etc. as a part of celebration. why we don't eat fresh food and hot food ? if we eat hot food so what happen with us ? so behind this shitala saatam there is scientific reasons.

EXISTENTIALISM VIDEO REVIEW

Thinking Activity

Existentialism

 * What is Existentialism ?

                      Existentialism is a tradition of philosophical enquiry which takes as its starting point the experience of the human subject not merely the thinking subject, but the acting, feeling, living human individual. it is associated mainly with certain 19th and 20th century European Philosophers who, despite profound doctrinal differences, share the belief in that beginning of philosophical thinking.

* Here is the Existenalist Philosophers :

1. Soren Kierkegaard
2. Martin Heideggar
3. Jean Paul Sartre
4. Albert Camus
5. Friedrich Nietzche
6. Simon de Beauvoir

* Video:- 1 What is Existentialism ?

                     In this we can see first that the 3 sides of Existentialism :

1. Individuality
2. Freedom
3. Passion

                             And second one is the idea of philosophical suicide. this camus the philosopher argued and said that believing in god is that you take an easy way out. believing in god is considered a philosophical suicide for him. the universe is less than 6000 years old. we are at the centre of the universe. Existentialism use in a suicide, Angst, Anguish, Passion, Society, Imosion, Freedom. Existentialism is mainly popular among young people mostly because it touches subjects which a person in his or her views might be struggle in with.

* Video:- 2 The myth of Sisyphus: The Absurd Reasoning (Feeling of the Absurd)

                            Second video about the myth of Sisyphus; the Absurd Reasoning. taking about an absurd reasoning comus starts this essay.
                                Absurd Reasoning there is but one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. he focus on the matter of suicide. he shot himself on the Brookyn bridge. he said it was the best art work of the 19th century. life is filled with despair and absurdity and life is meaningless. life is the most urgent of questions." the silence of the heart ad is a great work of art. this video comparison with the movie "stay".

* Video:- 3 The Myth of Sisyphus: The notion of Philosophical suicide

                      The notion of philosophical suicide. here three examples;

1. A total absence of hope ; DISPAIR.
2. A continual rejection ; RENUNCIATION.
3. Conscious dissatisfaction ; IMMATURE UNREST.

                               Camus believe in Existentialism, disapproval thus absurd becomes god and that ability to understand becomes the existence that illuminates everything.

                                 Kierkegaard says, faith is the solution to the absurd.

ABSURD + FAITH = ESCAPISM.

* Video :- 4 Dadaism, Nihilism and Existentialism

                           This video these are Dadaism, Nihilism and Existentialism movement value and it deals behind the movement. Dadaism is quest of change new value an new path. Dadaism contents and value itself but it is against the value of Existentialism hence it essence with Nihilism. it was in 1916 that the Dada movement, and it is associated with Nihilism. Absurdity of life connected with Dadaism.

Dada + Art Movement = Nihilism

                           Dadaism as way of becoming free of everything.

* Video :- 5 Existentialism- a gloomy philosophy.

                               Existentialism is a gloomy philosophy truth of a picture.

LIFE + ANXIETY = TRUTH.

                               Existentialism is mirror mirror on the wall who's the pretties philosophical movement of them all.

EXISTENTIALISM # NIHILISM.

                              Existentialism was a response to this emptiness. Existentialism is differ from nihilism. after world war-2 people life became miserable and full of despair. everyone tried to find the meaning of life.

* Video :- 6 Existentialism and Nihilism : is it one and the same?

                               Existentialism is not say like nihilism say there is no meaning or purpose to life, but existentialism dealing with finding exist behind anything.

NIHILISM = THE LOSS OF INDIVIDUALITY (LEVELING)

                        That the highest values devaluate them selves. nihilism is not a necessary characteristics of Existentialism. Existentialism dealing with one can create their own personal subjective meaning. nihilism dealing with this idea no personal subjective meaning.

* Video :- 7 Let us introduce Existentialism again ?

                        Existentialism is a fyu century some of the cavy century. the history of existentialism. Examine what for existentialism is the key concern of philosophy. * Video :- 9 Why I like Existentialism ? Eric Dodson :

                                  Existentialism is a way of life and understand life deeply. Existentialism says about what i am Eric Dodson said that it is honest and shows reality of life and accept your fault and your abilities.

* Video :- 10 Let us sum up : from Essentialism to Existentialism :

                            Crash Course philosophy is brought to you by square space. they give so many purpose or meaning of life. god important or existence. as a human being only after the birth we can decide our essence by our choice.

Interpretation-challenge Breath

Thinking Activity

Interpretation Challenge Breath

 * About Samuel Beckett :-

                              Samuel Barclay Beckett born 13 April 1906 and death 22 December 1989 was an Irish novelist, playwright, short story writer, theatre director, poet and literary translator. A resident of paris for most of his adult life, he wrote in both English and French. he is considered one of the last modernist writers and one of the key figures in what martin Esslin called the "Theatre of the Absurd." He was awarded the 1969 Nobel prize in literature for his writing which in new forms for the novel and drama in the destitution of modern man acquires its elevation.

1) Breath by Damien Hirst :-

  The play has many concepts.
  Nothingness
  Meaninglessness
  Absurdity
  Existentialism

                          In the starting we hear the sound of breath is connected with life and death. this video see this overlaid medicine rubbish. we find in the video that it start with dusk and than movies on with down and ends with dusk so as per my point of view writer wants to say that our life start with dusk and also end with dusk. one of the symbols at the end of the video was the swastika.

2) Breath by Liana de Jordan :-

                                This video in so many types of fruits and vegetable. fruit connected with richness, over indulgence and temptation and earthly pleasure. something fruit ride us to luxurious life style which get during our life from nature but human being still never satisfied.

3) National Theatre school first year teachnical production class project production of Samuel Beckett's play Breath

                                   The video with darkness then through the light we can see rubbish and listen to some of the weird crying voice, maybe it means that living things exist and end. Another interpretation is that human being born on the planet as a curse so that may be born as a human being on planet is rubbish thing. may be this video suggests that how life is nothing but waiting for death. may be it's sound of happening rape and paining.

METHOD OF ENGLISH TEACHING

Thinking Activity

Methods of English Teaching

1. The Grammar Translation Method
2. The Direct Method
3. The Audio Lingual Method
4. Total Physical Response and Suggestopedia
5. The Silent Way

1) The Grammar Translation Method :-

                               This oldest and traditional method of teaching. particularly in India, this method is used as English is taught as a second language. the Structure of a foreign language is best learn when compared and contrasted with the mother tongue.

2) The Direct Method :-

                            Direct Method is the Method Through which students learn to communicate in the target language and not involving L1 in the language learning process. this method is also known as natural method. learning the second language without the help of other language.

3) The Audio Lingual Method :-

                    This Method used to improve communicative competence in learner. This method based on linguistic theory and behavioral psychology. the Audio lingual method is  used to improve communicative competence in learners.

4) Total Physical Response :-

                         This method is based on learning through this method is based on learning through physical activities.

5) The Silent Way :-

                         The silent way is a language teaching method created by caleb Gattegno in 1963. An extensive use of silence is as teaching technique.

Q-1) Which Method appealed you the most from the above given methods ? Give Reasons.

Ans :- "The Audio Lingual Method i most appealed because this method through teacher can teach easily study topic. there are many online courses are available. the most important thing is that we can learn in the absence of teacher.

Q-2) Tell something about your favorite method used by your teachers from school till PG. how is their method unique ?

Ans :- I was studying in primary to high school during most of teachers focused on grammar translation method and also involved these all method which i refer as above. i can tell our teaching methods depended on exam so our exam system is like a game of memorization and it is not just memories but equabal memories everything so it like bookish knowledge when we used in college level most students feel confused. i like grammar translation method.

Q-3) Tell something going about the method you didn't like from school till PG. Give reasons.

Ans :- I not like the silent way method. because in this method there is no interaction between teacher and students. silent way method is not good for teaching if students silently listen everything and not allowed students response so this method is not appropriate for teaching.
